SUMMARY

I’m a Linux Engineer with skills in system administration, cloud infrastructure administration, monitoring, and mentoring. I enjoy connecting people with technology solutions that are easy to use, affordable, and sustainable over time. I'm familiar with, and a huge supporter of, the DevOps culture and how to make it work with a large team in a fast paced environment.

Extensive experience with the configuration, hardening, and maintenance of various Linux distributions, including:

* Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Fedora, CentOS
* Debian, Ubuntu
* Amazon Linux

As well as the following UNIX operating systems:

* Solaris
* AIX

Able to set up vital Linux infrastructure components including load balancers, DNS servers, web/application servers, and mail servers.

Proficient in working with web services including using the Apache and NGINX web servers, directly and as reverse proxies. Extensive experience with load balancers such as the F5 BigIP LTM and AWS ELB/ALB/NLB. Also familiar with the use and configuration of web application firewalls (Sucuri and AWS WAF).

In terms of programming, adept at scripting using the bash shell. Novice to intermediate skills with Python, Go, and C. Comfortable using the Git version control system including the various hosted services (GitHub, GitLab, and, BitBucket). Experienced with using Jenkins and GitHub Actions as build/continuous integration platforms.

Experienced in rapid deployment and configuration management technologies such as kickstarts, Red Hat Satellite Server, Ansible, Puppet, and SaltStack.

Experience using various Container technologies such as Docker, and Solaris Zones.

Familiar with several system management products:

* Sensu
* Grafana/Graphite/Influxdb
* Icinga
* Nagios
* Infoblox DNS/IPAM

Red Hat Linux Certifications:

* Red Hat Certified Engineer - RHEL 6 (Expired)
