I couldn’t wait any longer

My impatience got the better of me this afternoon and I called my coordinator and I’m glad I did.  She let me know that everyone I have met with loved me.  Who knew?  Apparently she had been waiting for her scheduling assistant to set up my remaining appointments.  But since I called, she took it upon herself to go ahead and do it herself.  I now have an appointment to pick up my blood pressure monitor next Thursday and return it on Friday.  She will also be working on scheduling my CT scan for as soon after that as possible.  She suggested that Saturday (March 9) but, unfortunately, I’ll be out of town then.  She said she’d also get started on my two remaining interviews (surgeon and donor advocate).  They are also working to get my psych appointment moved.  I hope they are successful.  I think she did get the message by my calling to follow-up about how serious I am to do this.

  1. Hi, I am also in the process of becoming a live donor – about 7 weeks into it.
I have just found this blog and am reading through it, it made me laugh because I am also very impatient! I have to keep myself from calling the donor coordinator and making a pest of myself about twice a day!
I know that you recently donated – congratulations! but I will wait and read the posts in order.

  2. Judy, all I can say now is that all of the waiting and everything else was well worth it and I’m happy to hear that others are reading this. I look forward to hearing more about your experience as well.
